The Greenhouse Gas Storage Act 2009 (Qld) (Act) was assented to on 23 February 2009. The Act provides a tenure framework for onshore carbon capture and storage in Queensland and establishes two types of greenhouse gas (GHG) tenure - GHG exploration permits and GHG storage and injection leases.
