DESCRIPTION:

The European Commission (E.C.) approved a request from the U.K.’s Department of Energy and Climate Change (DECC) that funding from the E.C. be sent to DECC. Those funds are to be passed along to the two finalists in the U.K.’s CCS competition. The grant is to be used to help pay for the front end engineering and design (FEED) studies of the two finalists’ projects.

The non-confidential version of the E.C.’s decision to approve the DECC’s request will be made available under the case number N74/2009 in the State Aid Register on the DG Competition website once any confidentiality issues have been resolved.
