Pittsburgh, USA May 7-11, 2007
More than 50 participants from 7 countries attended the inaugural CSLF Capacity Building in Emerging Economies Workshop, 7-11 May 2007 in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, USA. The workshop was sponsored by the U.S. Department of Energy and was held in conjunction with the 6th Annual Conference on Carbon Capture and Sequestration. The workshop gave participants an overview of the basics of carbon capture and storage (CCS) as well as an opportunity to meet and develop contacts with their counterparts in other countries and many of the 700 experts who attended the Conference. Workshop topics including issues concerning and the need for carbon management; risk management in the geological storage of CO2; measurement, monitoring, and verification (MMV); and capture technologies and costs.
