Mission Innovation countries came together on November 14 at the UN climate change conference in Morocco (COP22) to report on developments one year on from its launch. Finland and the Netherlands (a CSLF member) were welcomed as the most recent members to join this global effort to double clean energy R&D. In addition, a number of innovation challenges were launched to target development of energy technologies that will accelerate the clean energy transition - including a Carbon Capture Innovation Challenge. The objective of the Mission Innovation Carbon Capture Innovation Challenge is to enable near-zero CO2 emissions from power plants and carbon intensive industries.
