Event Date and Location:
March 1–2, 2011, Al Khobar, Saudi Arabia

The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia hosted the CSLF Storage and Monitoring Projects Interactive Workshop and PIRT Meeting from March 1-2, 2011, in Al Khobar and Shaybah, Saudi Arabia. CSLF experts from around the globe shared their experience in implementing carbon capture and storage (CCS) technologies. The workshop was sponsored by the Saudi Ministry of Petroleum and Natural Resources and Saudi Aramco and included a tour of Saudi Aramco’s Shaybah Gas-Oil Separation Plant.

CSLF Recognized Projects featured:

  • CO2 Field Lab Project
  • CO2CRC Otway Project
  • CO2 Store Project / Sleipner and Snøvit Projects
  • Fort Nelson Carbon Capture and Storage Project
  • Geologic CO2 Storage Assurance at In Salah, Algeria
  • IEA GHG Weyburn-Midale CO2 Monitoring and Storage Project
  • Ketzin Test Site Project (formerly CO2 Sink Project)
  • Lacq CO2 Capture and Storage Project
  • Regional Carbon Sequestration Partnerships
  • SECARB Early Test at Cranfield Project
  • Zama Acid Gas EOR, CO2 Sequestration, and Monitoring Project
